Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Administer medications according to prescribed guidelines
Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities
Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
Engage individuals in recreational and social activities
Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
Perform heavy lifting as needed to assist individuals with mobility
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and families to ensure individual needs are met
Qualifications:
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus
Ability to provide direct support and care in a compassionate manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of individuals with disabilities
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Note: Prior experience in nursing homes, childcare, or assisted living facilities can be transferable skills for this position.
