    Job Description

    AAA Hudson Valley provides towing, recovery, and battery service to members needing emergency roadside assistance. In addition, we offer travel products, travel agents, property and casualty insurance, and discounts on products and services. We provide our services in Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia, and Greene Counties.

    THIS IS AN IN OFFICE POSITION, 5 DAYS A WEEK IN OUR ALBANY NY LOCATION. - NO REMOTE AVAILABILITY.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Develops, implements, and coordinates human resources policies and programs and administers their application. Furnishes guidance to administrative and management personnel to maintain sound human resource practices and to assure effective selection, development, motivation, compensation, and deployment of all personnel. The position is also responsible for ensuring competency in each position through effective training and ongoing job enhancement.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop long and short-term goals for the Human Resources Department. Develop, implement, and administer plans, policies, procedures, and budgets necessary to achieve agreed-upon goals and objectives.
    • Direct the effective selection and retention of employees to ensure a qualified, productive staff. Coordinate the in-house posting and external recruitment for all positions.
    • Manage accurate and timely bi-weekly processing of payroll in compliance with both internal and external regulatory policies.
    • Accountable for employee training and development to maintain productive, qualified staff. Responsible for management development as well as skills training in all Club departments.
    • Responsible for the creation and administration of an effective salary and benefits program to maintain a competitive, cost-effective position in our identified market.
    • Direct the establishment, implementation, interpretation, and maintenance of personnel policies to aid managers and supervisors in effectively dealing with their employees and to respond to diverse legal requirements, including but not limited to EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.
    • Ensure continued compliance with all local, state, and federal laws concerning employment, recruitment, workspace environment, and ensure timely filing in accordance with prevailing requirements.
    • Oversee the processing of appropriate worker’s compensation and unemployment claims to ensure proper completion of required paperwork; monitors costs, participate in safety/loss control to help minimize potential exposure.
    • Effective direction of the department and staff to ensure desired levels of employee development, equal employment opportunity, and productivity.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS :

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in an HR generalist role
    • Must have at least 3-5 years of management experience
    • Demonstrated skills in areas of human resources, payroll administration, and training and development
    • Ability to communicate effectively with administration, management, employees, and the general public
    • Ability to work well as part of a team and clearly articulate the vision and strategy both internally and externally
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to deliver results
    • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, influencing, and management skills
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills * Organizational and project management skills * Knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
