Our mission is to foster the growth of each child's potential through evidence-based interventions, ensuring they receive the tools needed to thrive both in the classroom and in daily life.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced ABA Therapist to join our team. The ABA Therapist will work directly with children in an after-school setting, applying principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support children with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering ABA therapy, particularly in group settings, and be committed to promoting positive outcomes for children through structured, evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Assessments: Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to assess the individual needs of children, including conducting functional behavior assessments and skill assessments.
Implement ABA Therapy: Deliver one-on-one and small group ABA interventions, focusing on communication, social skills, adaptive behavior, and academics.
Data Collection: Maintain accurate and consistent data on student progress, including behavioral data and skill acquisition. Use data to inform decisions and adjust interventions as needed.
Behavioral Support: Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to reduce challenging behaviors and reinforce positive behaviors. Provide direct support for children experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties.
Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other program staff, including behavior analysts, educators, and family members, to develop individualized treatment plans and ensure consistent, integrated care.
Parent Communication: Engage with parents or guardians regularly to share progress, challenges, and strategies for continued support at home.
Skill Building: Support children in building foundational skills such as self-regulation, problem-solving, communication, and social interaction through structured activities.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on current ABA practices and research to improve therapeutic techniques and program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, or a related field (required). Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field is a plus.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges, ideally in an ABA setting or after-school program.
Certification: RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification or willingness to pursue certification is highly preferred. Alternatively, experience with ABA therapy principles is required.
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of ABA principles, behavior management techniques, and individualized interventions.
Ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families, team members, and supervisors.
Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to working with children who may present behavioral challenges.
Ability to adapt to changing environments and needs of the children served.
Physical Requirements: Ability to engage in physical activities such as sitting on the floor, helping children with movement, or physically guiding children as necessary.
Why Work With Us:
Impact: You will make a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of children by helping them develop the skills necessary to succeed socially, academically, and in life.
Supportive Environment: Work in a collaborative, team-oriented setting where your contributions are valued and supported.
Professional Development: Access to ongoing training and development opportunities to expand your ABA skills and knowledge.
Flexible Hours: This position is ideal for individuals seeking a part-time or flexible schedule in the after-school setting.
