    Job Description

    The controller will handle high-level restaurant accounting using QuickBooks Enterprise and Squirrel Point of Sale as well as internal software, managerial accounting, and oversee the financial activities of the company’s multiple restaurant concepts and entities. As head of your accounting team, the Financial Accounting Analyst / Asst Controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting. Will report to the chief financial officer (cfo)/and CEO, and will assist with the development of people, internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed. CPA strongly preferred.

    CONTROLLER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses using Quickbooks Enterprise and Squirrel POS software.

    · Oversee payments of all accounts; ensuring all accounts are paid on time

    · Keep an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts

    · Prepare monthly financial reports

    · Manage the quarterly/annual budgets and forecasts

    · Coach and direct a team daily, weekly, monthly and as needed one on one

    · Define, benchmark and implement operational best practices

    · Complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting with all additional legal and regulatory requirements

    CONTROLLER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field

    · Ideal candidate has 5 to 10 years of experience in field

    · Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license required or highly desirable. Will consider experience in lieu.

    · Previous experience as in restaurant accounting, accounting supervisor, or manager

    · Excellent computer skills; experience in restaurant accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Access, database, or other system knowledge i.e. Squirrel POS, Focus OIS, QuickBooks, above average Excel knowledge

    · Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead others.

    Must be able to pass an extensive background check.
