Eco Spot is proud to collect about 10 million lbs. annually that are recycled by its parent company – Mid-West Textile, LLC in El Paso, TX along with our Thrift Town Store to service our customers.

    Summary of Position

    The role involves receiving donations at the designated donation center, issuing receipts for donations, and sorting donated merchandise into assigned categories. The physical demands described here represent the requirements that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

    Role and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the proper and timely opening/closing of the donation center.
    • Accepts and refuses donations within the accepted category and in good condition politely and courteously.
    • Issues a receipt for donated goods to a donor.
    • Provides excellent customer service by assisting in the unloading of donated items.
    • Accurately report incidents and accidents to the supervisor.
    • Must be willing to maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance, adhering to Eco-Spot uniform standards.
    • Neatly and accurately complete required paperwork.
    • Ensure the work area presents a clean, neat, safe, and professional appearance at all times.
    • Accurately and timely record and monitor donations.
    • Comply with all Mid-West Textile/Eco-Spot policies, including participating in store meetings and training.
    • Adhere to the work schedule set by the supervisor.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    • Ability to provide good customer service with a positive, courteous, and friendly attitude.
    • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
    • Ability to make quick decisions regarding merchandise quality.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends.
    • Ability to work at different locations if requested.
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to stand, bend, and twist for eight hours
