    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist/Geologist to be based in one of our Albany, NY; Amherst, NY; Chelmsford, MA; Providence, RI; Rocky Hill, CT; or Pocasset, MA offices. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.

    ** Job Overview:**

    The Entry-Level Environmental Scientist/Geologist will assist our Remediation team both in the field and in office, supporting soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment.

    This position is expected to begin in October 2023.

    The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

    • Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
    • Field document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretation.
    • Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Soil Sciences, or related field.
    • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
    • Valid U.S. Driver's License

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Coursework or experience providing knowledge relevant to waste management, environmental site assessments, environmental site investigation and characterization, and environmental remediation is preferred.
    • Knowledge of environmental sampling practices

    Additional Information

    • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
    • Travel is required for this position. Candidates will be asked to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record screening upon hire.
    • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

    • This is an in-office position. Candidates are expected to reside in one of the advertised locations or relocate if necessary.
