    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer - Energy Practice in Austin, TX.

    This position is expected to begin in May or June 2025.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for the I&C engineering design work on assigned projects under the guidance of senior staff.

    • Occasional travel to client/project sites.

    • Builds analytic and design skills.

    • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or in another related field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, flow, and analytical instrumentation and control valve sizing principles.

    • Knowledge of control valves including valve sizing.

    • Familiarity with Piping and Instrument Diagram Development (P&ID).

    • Familiarity with control systems including PLC or DCS based systems including automation and programming.

    • Familiarity with control systems for solar or wind facilities including facilities with BESS systems.

    • EIT/FE or ability to obtain EIT/FE certification.

    • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, PIP, NFPA, etc.).

    • Familiarity with InTools and SmartPlant based systems.

    • Strong written and verbal skills.
