We're looking for an experienced AIX System Administrator to join our client team in Houston, TX! If you have a passion for Unix-based systems and enjoy working in a hybrid setup with cutting-edge IBM technologies, this role is for you.

🔧 Key Skills & Experience:

5–8 years of proven experience as an AIX System Administrator

Strong knowledge of AIX, Linux, and Power HA

Familiarity with ISD and Unix technology & storage systems

Expertise with IBM’s latest architectures (Power9/Power10)

Proficient in LPAR generation and reconfiguration

Hands-on experience with AIX/Linux OS installation, configuration, and administration

Deep understanding of VIO Servers, Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA), and redundant configurations

Skilled in system troubleshooting, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and performance tuning

Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions

Comfortable providing 24x7 support for midrange systems

🎯 What You'll Do:

Administer AIX and Linux environments including patching, upgrades, and system tuning

Create and manage LPARs (fully and partially virtualized)

Support internal teams with troubleshooting and deployment planning

Act as an internal consultant to advise on system design and performance improvements

Maintain high availability and resilience through Power HA and robust system architecture
