Job Title: Safety and Security Director

Location: Amsterdam, NY Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000 based on experience
Overview:
Altaris Consulting Group seeks a highly qualified individual with prior law enforcement experience to serve as Safety and Security Coordinator for a client school district in Amsterdam, NY. The successful candidate will work closely with our consulting team and be responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive safety and security program that addresses the unique needs of our school district. This is an excellent opportunity for a prior law enforcement professional passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of students and staff.
Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain a comprehensive security program designed by Altaris for the school district that includes policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Collaborate with Altaris consultants, school administrators, staff, law enforcement agencies, and other community partners to assess and address security needs in a proactive manner.
Assist with recruiting, training, and supervising security personnel, ensuring they are equipped to respond effectively to emergencies and other security-related incidents.
Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure a well-prepared response to threats and emergencies.
Implement and manage security systems and technologies, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
In collaboration with the Altaris consulting team, conduct regular security audits and assessments of school facilities to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to address them.
In collaboration with the Altaris consulting team, provide guidance and support to school administrators in handling security-related incidents and investigations.
Collaborating with the Altaris consulting team, develop and deliver security awareness training and educational programs for staff and students.
In collaboration with the Altaris consulting team, monitor and analyze security trends, incidents, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of the school district's security program.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement.
Supervisory experience is REQUIRED.
Strong understanding of security best practices, risk assessment methodologies, and relevant laws and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective security programs and strategies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
Experience in managing and training police or security personnel.
Knowledge of security technologies and systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems, is desirable.
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field preferred.
