JOB DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for assisting the HR & Safety Director in the day-to day responsibilities in the Human Resources Dept., including, but not limited to assisting with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, workers compensation administration, safety, and payroll. They will be an excellent addition, and key member, to our Human Resources team and help American Eagle Ready Mix achieve company goals.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting:
Work with the HR & Safety Director to fill open positions.
Review applications and resumes, screen candidates and schedule for interview when applicable.
Update Staffing Matrix and Open Job Reports as required.
Assist in the pre-employment process for new hires including offer letter, background requests and references.
Work with our ATS software, various team members, and team members' calendars, to coordinate interviewing schedules and logistics as well as address emails and other inquiries on an ad hoc basis.
Help facilitate a red-carpet candidate experience from start to finish ... and beyond, fulfilling responsibilities with a high standard of care and purpose.
Support recruitment marketing efforts.
HR/Payroll:
Provide orientation for new hires and ensure that all the proper documents are signed and placed in the personnel record.
Update and maintain I-9 file.
Create new employee personnel files and ensure they are maintained according to company standards.
Copy employee records as needed.
Assist with employee HRIS entries such as employee changes, deductions, terminations, etc.
Maintain employee evaluations schedule and work closely with supervisor to ensure timely delivery.
Become familiar with company benefits offered and assist enrollment for new hires and annual open enrollment.
Assist with maintenance of records for Authorized Drivers, including annual MVR and safety training.
Assist with DOT Driver Qualification Records.
Assist with employment and salary verification requests.
Payroll data entry and processing via NetSuite and Ceridian.
Processing weekly reports.
Always maintain the confidentiality of the office of Human Resources.
Other duties as requested.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
1-3 years of experience.
Recruiting experience, including experience with an ATS - and/or exceptionally diverse life experiences that helps provide an understanding of all people and their experiences.
Superb presentation and writing, with an ability to serve as a "high bandwidth communicator".
Strong sense for math/numbers, disciplined logic, and a strong sense for organization and process.
Experience onboarding new employees; I-9 validation (E-Verify), knowledge of USCIS guidelines, proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel.
Experience with maintaining employment and payroll records in a cloud-based system such as NetSuite.
Proficient with spreadsheets and database spreadsheets.
High level of customer service and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Microsoft Office includes Excel, Outlook, Word, and cloud-based ERP systems such as NetSuite.
Strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and strong communication skills.
Ability to act independently and prioritize responsibilities and tasks.
