Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable AOG Mechanic to join our team in the aviation industry. The AOG Mechanic will be responsible for providing immediate, on-site maintenance and repair services for aircraft that are grounded due to technical issues. This role requires exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in time-sensitive environments to minimize aircraft downtime and ensure the safety and compliance of the aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to AOG situations, ensuring quick and efficient repairs to minimize aircraft downtime.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on various aircraft systems, including engines, avionics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and airframes.
- Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
- Communicate with dispatch, maintenance control, and other departments to coordinate resources and provide updates on AOG situations.
- Complete necessary documentation, including work orders, repair logs, and compliance paperwork, as per company and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and engineers to ensure that repairs are completed correctly and safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Assist with routine scheduled maintenance and inspections when not involved in AOG situations.
- Stay current on industry standards, technology, and FAA regulations related to aircraft maintenance.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.
- Minimum of [6] years of experience as an aircraft mechanic, with a focus on AOG or emergency repair situations.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in time-sensitive situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability for on-call shifts, overtime, and travel as needed for AOG situations.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on Bombardier, Regional CRJ 200.
- Additional certifications or training in specialized aircraft systems or maintenance areas.
- Knowledge of international aviation maintenance standards and regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, and crouching.
- Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme weather or confined spaces.
