JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire an experienced AP Chemistry instructor to provide instruction to our high school students preparing for their AP exams. Your role is to provide instruction, create lesson plans, facilitate classroom discussions, evaluate student performance, and promote a positive learning environment. You will be collaborating with the Directors of Curriculum Development to create curriculum and lesson plans, as well as provide academic support to students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field from an accredited college or university (required)
Master's degree in Chemistry or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred)
2 years' experience as a Science instructor or tutor (required)
Knowledgeable with AP Chemistry content and tests
Science competition knowledge (preferred)
Professional communication skills (both spoken and written)
Proven experience assisting students with essay review
Competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Able to work independently and collaborate with a team
Enthusiastic about working with students and parents
Able to maintain strict confidentiality
Highly organized and detail-oriented (attention to detail and accuracy are imperative)

JOB DUTIES:
Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum Development to develop lesson plans and curricula as needed
Prepare students for science competitions
Assess students' needs and provide extra support in any lacking areas
Provide homework help as needed
Able to lead a classroom of students effectively and work efficiently with students
Good classroom management skills
