  • Responsibilities

    Teach one section of AP Computer Science. This one section course can be placed anywhere on the school day that best meets the needs of the instructor; our school day runs from 7:50 a.m. - 3:05 p.m. and the class meets 4 days per week.

    Attendance at a summer Advanced Placement institute may be required. A strong candidate for this position would have a degree in computer programming and/or industry experience.

    Advanced Placement Computer Science course description: This course focuses on computer programming using JAVA, an object-oriented programming language. It is equivalent to a first-semester college level course and will cover programming methodology, algorithm design, testing methods, logical reasoning, and problem solving. Topics include data structures, conditional statements, iteration, arrays, inheritance, recursion, and object-oriented design. The course follows the syllabus recommended by the College Board.

    AP Computer Science class runs 1st and 2nd semester, classes held August 18, 2025 – May 22, 2026

    • Teach 1 section of AP Computer Science.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science/programming or industry experience. A WI DPI license and high school teaching experience is a plus, industry experience is preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Highly effective communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a strong desire to assist all students to be successful are also required.

    Physical Demands:

    Thisposition requires constant contact and communication with others, multitasking,repetitive motion, some standing, sitting, and bending, and requires the dailyuse of computers, various monitors and other office equipment.

    Work Environment:

    Thework takes place primarily in an office/school environment.
