    Purchasing Coordinator

    We are seeking a successful Purchasing Coordinator / Purchasing Manager to work alongside our Production and Project Management team. In addition to purchasing, will work with production team to put projects into production, including material review, scheduling of customer orders, material takeoffs, etc. Will also be responsible for inventory management. Must be willing to work hands on within a small team. We are an architectural metals manufacturer. You will be sourcing and purchasing a wide variety of items including aluminum, steel, sheet metal, extrusions door hardware, finishes, fixtures and so much more.

    Candidate will personally perform all purchasing functions to include effective sourcing and procurement of all products and services. Will also manage all inventory and ensure that inventory levels are maintained at desired levels and that all products are of good quality and shipped on a timely basis.

    Requirements:

    • Possess the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
    • Excellent organization skills are a must.
    • Must be comfortable in a fast paced environment
    • Above average computer skills absolutely required.

    Responsibilities:

    • First and foremost identify best suppliers and negotiate best price, terms and delivery schedules
    • Conduct research to identify new suppliers
    • Maintaining accuracy of purchase order data: including items, quantities, due dates, special instructions and terms and conditions and receipt dates.
    • Ensure product delivery according to project scheduling and convey such to all related parties
    • Manage inventory and maintain inventory at desired levels
    • Write all material requisitions and all purchase orders
    • Assist Engineering and Sales with new product development
    • Ensure that all products are of good quality by partnering with warehouse team
    • Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure timely, accurate and complete paper flow, material shipping and receiving; job completion and payables and receivables processing
    • Resolving problems with supplier delivery dates, receipt transactions and invoice discrepancies
    • Keeping team members informed of whereabouts of material at all times, product availability, shipping requirements, lead-times and forecasting needs.

    Necessary skills and requirements:

    • Ability to work in small company environment where you will work hands on without an assistant
    • A minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience
    • Positive, self-motivated attitude
    • Very strong negotiation and problem solving skills
    • Basic knowledge of product drawings and blue prints a plus
    • Speed, multi-tasking and accuracy are critically important
    • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
    • Ability to exercise good judgment, tact and diplomacy while at the same time identifying opportunities to save money and getting the best price for the company
    • EXCELLENT computer skills, especially with EXCEL.
