Supporting The Missile Defense Agency at Redstone Arsenal.  Provide high quality, professional services for Agency-wide Safety as directed by the MDA Quality, Safety & Mission Assurance. Provide technical and program management support for the QS directorate at the “Core”/ MDS-level and Program/Project Safety Programs. This support includes development, implementation, and execution of MDS safety policies, requirements, and programs; system safety risk identification and management process; safe conduct of MDS-level system demonstration activities; and safe interoperability of communicating over communication systems.

Professional candidate that has 3 years of supervisory experience in addition to the required professional experience. Duties and responsibilities include assistance with marketing, proposal preparation, client interface, attending project meetings and preparing presentations, task status and scheduling/tracking, preparation and review of engineering, research, and/or risk studies and technical reports, and employee supervision.

Required Skills

• Experience working safety processes, as described in MIL-STD 882 (Rev E preferred), during design, development, use, and maintenance of safety-critical hardware and software systems in complex aerospace and/or weapons systems.
• Must possess the ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems. Capability and/or experience developing and presenting safety assessments to a diverse audience.

Required Experience

• Current DOD Security Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited institution and 3 years experience in system Safety engineering.
• Acceptable alternative: Bachelor's degree in scientific field (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, etc.) with 5 years demonstrated skill and relevant experience in system safety engineering and/or software system safety engineering.
