The Job
Our client is looking for an ASIC Design Expert that will provide hands-on, expert level support in hardware and ASIC design on multiple programs. The candidate must have deep ASIC Engineering and broad Engineering technical expertise, ASIC industry recognition in defense and commercial applications, and experience in military GPS and Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) technology or other RF hardware designs.
Functions
- Provides overall hands-on technical expertise in ASIC and Hardware Engineering for multiple programs.
- Recognized as an external and internal expert and thought leader with deep mastery and substantive technical expertise in ASIC design, development, test, and manufacturing as well as advanced business knowledge and leadership capabilities.
- Ensures a cohesive team and trust within the ASIC and Hardware Engineering Organization.
- Makes substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions.
- Plans and establishes goals and objectives for ASIC and Hardware Engineering with direct impact on the short-term and long-term operational results.
- Leads, directs, coaches, and reviews the work of ASIC and Hardware Engineering personnel to accomplish near-term and long-term operational plans and results.
- Works under consultative direction against annual goals and objectives to manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization.
- Maintains outstanding communication with higher management and with the employees in the organization.
- Collaborate with other business areas to execute programs and business development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience or a Graduate degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
- 20+ years of experience in hands-on ASIC Engineering and Signal Processing Design, Development, Test, and Manufacturing for both Defense and Commercial Applications with experience developing ASICS with 100,000,000 gates/transistors or more.
- 20+ years of experience in ASIC architecture, RTL coding, synthesis, simulation, emulation, power analysis, placement, routing, layout, and timing.
- 20+ years of experience in leading senior ASIC teams and hands-on detailed ASIC engineering to successfully complete project objectives within stringent technical, schedule, and budget requirements.
- 20+ years experience demonstrating strong verbal and written skills for both the internal team and with customers and program stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and hold a DoD SECRET clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Recognized as an ASIC expert in the ASIC Industry.
- Experience and understanding in detailed ASIC designs in military GPS, MGNSS, other PNT technology.
- Expert in detailed knowledge of the ASIC design and ASIC capabilities ranging from throughput, power consumption, thermal, aging and packaging.
- Expert using various ASIC software tools, including Palladium, Xcelium, Genus, Indago, JasperGold, Conformal XL.
- Expert in troubleshooting detailed ASIC designs in a hardware lab.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) to all levels of personnel experience.
- Active DoD SECRET clearance.
