INTERNSHIP SUMMARY:

Assist Energy department teams with data collection, measurement and verification, and reporting for energy management projects in new and existing facilities. Support project documentation and create project closeout documents and other items as required. Basic training related to industry-specific internship responsibilities provided.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Collect and organize utility data
• Support energy project reporting for utility and state grants
• Support energy project managers by collecting and reporting on project data
• Support energy engineers with measurement and verification of data, including generating reports
• Help create project closeout documentation
• Manage time to complete assignments on time and within scope

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently when provided with direction
• Eagerness to learn new systems and concepts
• Accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness
• Proficiency in basic computer hardware and software skills, including Word and Excel
• Practical skills with basic hand tools preferred (i.e., screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires a combination of working in an office environment and routine visits to project job sites. Project job sites may present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes.  Lifting and exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally. Occasional use of ladders up to 12-feet may be required.   

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS:

• Temporary position with option of part- or full-time hours
• Standard work week is Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm

TRAVEL:

• Travel to local project sites in the Puget Sound area required

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Undergraduate study in field of engineering or sustainability preferred  
• Experience working in building systems or other technical fields
• Equivalent combination of education, work, volunteer, or hobby experience
