Role Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our growing team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' financial needs by maintaining accurate records, preparing financial statements, and assisting with tax compliance. This role is primarily focused on our tax-focused services but will also support our other services as needed.
Responsibilities:
Client Support:
· Provide excellent client service by addressing inquiries and resolving accounting-related issues.
· Collaborate with clients to maintain accurate financial records and facilitate the tax preparation process.
· Offer guidance and advice on financial and tax matters.
· Coordinate closely with colleagues on client interactions and matters.

Tax Services:
· Assist in the preparation of individual and business tax returns.
· Assist in the preparation of individual and business tax needs, such as estimated payments, extensions, select form preparation and other items.
· Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
· Research tax issues and stay updated on tax law changes.
· Provide verbal and written explanations and summaries of tax issues to colleagues and clients
· Assist with process evaluation and design.
· Assist with technology evaluation and selection.
Bookkeeping and Accounting:
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients.
· Record daily financial transactions and ensure proper categorization.
· Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
· Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
· Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
· Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
· Assist with process evaluation and design.
· Assist with technology evaluation and selection.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Basic proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Desire or in progress of pursuing CPA, EA or other professional certification.
· Comfortable with technology in general.
Preferred:
· CPA, EA or other professional certification
· 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in tax and bookkeeping services.
· Strong proficiency in accounting & tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, CS Prosuite, CCH Axcess, Lacerte, Karbon, etc.).
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Business Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
· Interest in continuous process improvement, transformation through technology.
