    CONSTRUCTION CLAIMS CONSULTANT BETHESDA, MD

    SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

    The Consultant will be responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring and reviewing CPM schedules, conducting impact analysis, reporting, developing client-requested materials, and interacting with clients. Our client is a leader in the construction management and projects controls consulting services and is seeking a highly skilled operation performance professional to assist their local and national clients.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    · Support clients in the identification, quantification and mitigation of schedule related risks

    • Perform construction claims analysis including as-built schedule preparation, schedule analysis, document review and organization, key issue analysis, graphic exhibits and input to expert reports
    • Review critical path, cost loading, schedule content, use of relationships and lag, constraints and milestones
    • Create and assist in the creation of comprehensive schedules, utilizing Critical Path Methodology (CPM), resource and cost loading as necessary
    • Analyze and prepare analysis of project-costs for direct, indirect, time-related events.
    • Work closely with the Project Teams to develop, maintain and manage multiple project schedules; to include periodic tracking and status updates
    • Review project documents including drawings and specifications

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    · Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related discipline

    · 4-8 years scheduling experience in the construction industry

    · Strong understanding of the Critical Path Method of scheduling theoretically and as it applies to the project

    · Understanding of schedule delay principles and techniques

    · Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications, contracts/general conditions) at all levels of design

    · Ability to understand and analyze construction project cost reports, labor distribution reports, and other project accounting information.

    · Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite

    · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    · Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

    · Ability and experience developing policies and procedures for construction projects

    · Capable of working independently and as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities

    · Skilled at developing relationships with owners, subcontractors, senior leaders and project teams

    SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Senior Consultant will be responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and reviewing CPM schedules, conducting impact analysis, reporting on complex projects, and interacting with clients.

    • Review critical path, cost loading, schedule content, use of relationships and lag, constraints, and milestones

    · Support clients in the identification, quantification, and mitigation of schedule related risks

    • Perform schedule assessments, including reviews of critical path, schedule content, use of relationships and lag, constraints and milestones, constructability, and general assessment based on industry knowledge
    • Perform construction claims analysis including as-built schedule preparation, schedule analysis, document review and organization, key issue analysis, graphic exhibits, and input to expert reports

    · Establish and maintain professional business relations with clients

    · Train and oversee junior consultants to ensure work product is meeting or exceeding company’s quality standards

    · Work location will be headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    · Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related discipline

    · 12+ years of scheduling experience in the construction industry

    · Strong understanding of the Critical Path Method of scheduling theoretically and as it applies to construction projects

    · Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications, contracts/general conditions) at all levels of design, across project types, and trade disciplines

    · Expert user in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite

    · Experience in Synchro and other 4D modeling tools

    · Understanding and experience in Earned Value Management

    · Expertise in schedule delay principles and techniques

    · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    · Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

    · Capable of working independently and as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities

    · Skilled at developing relationships with owners, subcontractors, senior leaders and project teams

    · Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    · PMI and AACE International Certifications (PMI-SP, AACEI-PSP, AACEI-EVP, PMI-PMP)

    · Knowledge of additional scheduling and analysis software (i.e. Powerproject, Deltek Acumen Fuse, Deltek Open Plan)

    · Experience working for a general contractor or an MEP contractor
