Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years’ prior customer service experience required. Prior experience working as an Access Control Specialist, in a data center environment, or in military or law enforcement preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic access control systems functions preferred.
- Strong verbal and written skills, detail oriented, and prioritization skills required.
- Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.
- Ability to effectively respond, verbally or written, to tough issues, general inquiries or complaints.
- Proficient with MS Office Package
- Must have strong customer service orientation and ability to build customer relationships by building trust.
- Solid work ethic and integrity, able to work effectively and be self-directed is required.
- A good understanding of all applicable rule’s laws, codes, regulations and ordinances in performing access control responsibilities.
- Ability to assess and solve problems involving several options with limited information.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Flexibility, including the willingness and ability to readily respond to changing circumstances and expectations. Openness to new ideas and procedures.
- Ability to work autonomously/independently, with moderate supervision and oversight.
- Ability to effectively respond, verbally or written, to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex project documents. Ability to manage projects effectively.
- Candidate should be able to work independently and also as part of a team and must have the ability to learn new technologies.
- Must be an eager and motivated individual who excels in a team environment.
- Must be available to work a rotating 12 hour shift schedule and work alternate shifts as needed as is typical in a 24-7 data center security environment.
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours), walk long distances both inside and outside, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, reach overhead, climb stairs, ladders, etc. as needed, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform essential duties both inside and outside, in both climate controlled and non-climate controlled conditions.
- Ability to work in an environment that involves exposure to wet (and humidity), extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, and mechanical, electrical, radiant energy, explosive and burn hazards.
