    Position Summary:

    The Applications Specialist works closely with the Privileging Coordinator and Document Specialist ensuring the onboarding, re-appointment and Implementation applications are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for sending completed applications to physicians for signature, attaching documents/reports needed and submitting completed applications to the Privileging Coordinator.

    Description of Duties/Essential Functions: **
    **

    • Process privileging applications on behalf of physicians
    • Ensure all applications/packets are completed both timely and accurately based on priorities given by management
    • Maintain application processing status in physician database
    • Maintain physician and hospital files
    • Report to management on status of applications in process
    • Communicate with credentialing team to resolve any physician file issues
    • Communicate with physicians for any outstanding documents/information needed
    • Maintain professional communication with all physicians, coworkers and management
    • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission credentialing standards and Access TeleCare policies
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of all physician files
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelors or Associates degree preferred or High school diploma and three years of experience in healthcare staffing industry
    • Work Experience in the healthcare or staffing industries
    • Working knowledge of medical terminology
    • Ability to type 45 WPM

    **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    **

    • One to three years experience in Medical Affairs field or similar relevant experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and web based applications
    • Professional written and verbal communication skills and ability
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and proven accuracy with record keeping
    • Requires ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain timely records
    • Requires ability to maintain strong working relationships within and outside of the organization
    • Must be a self-starter, energetic, organized, a fast learner and thrive in a fast paced and changing environment
    • Ability to balance multiple projects concurrently, follow through and focus on details
    • Excellent problem solving skills
