Salary: Depending on Experience - $90,000-$100,000 plus a bonus structure

We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven National Account Manager to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a dynamic individual who has a strong background in propane sales, national account management, and customer relationship development.
Account Manager overview:
The National Account Manager – Propane Gas is responsible for managing and growing the company’s portfolio of national and regional accounts in the propane sector. This individual will develop and execute strategies to expand propane sales, improve customer satisfaction, and ensure the long-term success of key accounts. The role involves direct interaction with senior decision-makers at large enterprises, creating customized solutions, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
Account Manager Responsibilities:
Account Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for key national and regional accounts, ensuring a deep understanding of client needs and objectives.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with senior-level executives, procurement teams, and other key stakeholders at client organizations.
Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow propane business and increase market share with existing customers.
Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling propane solutions (e.g., bulk propane, tank exchange, commercial fueling services) to maximize revenue.
Sales & Business Development:
Drive new business acquisition and expand the company’s propane customer base by targeting national and regional opportunities.
Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are favorable for both the client and the company.
Conduct regular business reviews and account performance assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
Customer Service & Satisfaction:
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, logistics, customer service) to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Address any client concerns, troubleshooting operational issues, and coordinating with relevant teams for resolution.
Monitor and report on account performance, including service delivery metrics, pricing, and market trends.
Market Intelligence:
Stay updated on propane industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and threats.
Work closely with the marketing and product teams to help shape promotional strategies and tailor product offerings to meet customer needs.
Analyze customer data and make recommendations for improvements in service offerings, pricing, and operations.
Reporting & Forecasting:
Develop accurate sales forecasts and regularly report on account progress, potential revenue, and strategic initiatives.
Maintain a robust CRM system, ensuring all account interactions, proposals, and follow-up activities are documented.
Account Manager Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and account management, with at least 3 years in the propane or energy sector.
Proven track record of managing and growing national and regional accounts.
Experience with key account management strategies, negotiation, and long-term relationship building.
Skills:
Strong sales acumen and ability to close high-value contracts.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage with senior-level executives.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple accounts.
Proficient in CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
Industry certifications or additional training in propane or energy sales (preferred but not required).
