Job Summary

Browne Trading Company is currently looking for a Staff Accountant with expertise in Inventory Management and Cost Accounting to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with the Accounting Manager to maintain and improve the system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk and remain compliant with corporate, GAAP, and ethical standards.

We are looking for someone who is open to change and has strong communication and time management skills. Experience in QuickBooks POS and Fresh Byte, or other accounting systems is preferred.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.

Responsibilities

Enter financial data and transactions

Account reconciliations

Prepare financial reports and statements

Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered

Process accounts payable weekly

ACH Transfers

File and pay monthly Sales Taxes

Analyze budgets and other financial information

Intercompany transactions

Month end closing process and summary

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field

Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
