    Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant and Administrative Assistant to join our team at Floral Trade Distributors, a leading trucking company on the West Coast. This role combines accounting functions with administrative support, ensuring smooth operations within the financial and administrative departments. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles and will handle invoice processing, reconciliations, financial records management, and provide day-to-day administrative support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Accounting Support:

    Input invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring data integrity.

    Perform bank, account, and monthly reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

    Assist with maintaining and updating financial records and registers, ensuring compliance with internal policies.

    Monitor accounts payable/receivable activities and follow up on outstanding balances.

    Administrative Support:

    Organize and maintain financial and administrative files, ensuring easy access for the team.

    Prepare and process basic accounting reports and summaries as requested by the General Manager.

    Coordinate with vendors and customers as needed for invoice inquiries or payment information.

    Support daily administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and scheduling for the finance team.

    Requirements:

    Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting or administrative roles, preferably within logistics, trucking, or a similar industry.

    Technical Skills:

    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

    Knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.

    Soft Skills:

    High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with the General Manager and other stakeholders.

    Organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic work environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

    Experience within the transportation or logistics sector.

    Familiarity with invoicing software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
