Job Purpose: Reporting to the Head of Finance Programs (US), the Accountant for Cash Management will oversee cash and investment accounting as well as treasury management for the US entities of the Accredited Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Banking & Treasury Management:
- Set up bank accounts in line with board-approved bank mandates and manage relationships with key banks, including oversight of state/statutory deposits.
- Oversee technical payments from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate processing in relevant systems or bank platforms, securing necessary approvals, and recording payments in accounting systems.
- Monitor bank receipts, prepare, and process accounting entries for those receipts.
- Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Conduct monthly bank and investment reconciliations and support local investment reporting.
- Assist with monthly investment accounting, coordinating with investment managers for purchasing/disposal of financial instruments.
- Support liquidity management by monitoring funding levels, maintaining target cash balances, and optimizing returns on liquid assets.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Assist the Accounting Manager (US) in creditor reconciliation.
- Support quarterly and ad hoc reporting requirements in collaboration with the Head of Finance Programs (US) and the Accounting Manager (Europe).
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory obligations, including financial crime prevention, sanctions adherence, and the company’s whistleblowing policies.
- Follow best practices for prudent business management and prioritize customer interests in all activities.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent/relevant qualification in accounting or treasury.
- Experience in the insurance industry and/or a similar accounting or cash management role is highly desirable.
