A large business management firm seeks an Accountant for long-term consulting project.
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant performs professional accounting duties requiring the application of advanced accounting knowledge and the exercise of judgment in evaluating and analyzing the accounting system and related procedures. This individual may also be asked to perform ad-hoc analyses, input journal entries, create spreadsheets and/or reports as necessary. This is not a remote position.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Support efforts in internal controls development and implementation, and accounting systems integration.
- Perform the reconciliation of inter-company accounting transactions between subsidiaries, verifying and finalizing all inter-company balance sheet accounts and ensuring all eliminations are followed through timely and appropriately.
- Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts in accordance with GAAP
- Partner with the business management team to manage systems and improve transition workflows
- The ability to apply knowledge of accounting practices and theory, auditing, costing, work simplification and distribution methods and techniques in the execution of duties to effectively monitor workflow.
- A proven history of preparing accurate and relevant reports.
- Demonstrate experience exercising initiative and working independently on assigned projects.
- Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Must be able to maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
