We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Accountant for financial reporting, accounts payable, reconciliations, and cash release coordination for three subsidiary companies. This role requires the application of professional judgment in analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and improving processes. The Accountant will play a critical role in financial reporting, audit support, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance the company's financial operations.
Responsible for accounting and reporting for three subsidiary companies, ensuring compliance with financial policies and GAAP. Will develop policies and controls.
Prepare and review initial profit and loss (P &L) statements, making necessary adjustments prior to Controller review.
Perform financial reporting and variance analysis , ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
Research and reconcile subcontractor accounts for outstanding balances or vendor requests.
Monitor compliance defects and enhance accounting processes.
Manage non-subcontractor accounts payable , including invoice processing, proper coding, and Treasury inquiry logging.
Process daily cash applications for receipts and payments in Sage Intacct.
Oversee credit card coding , ensuring receipts are gathered and properly classified on a weekly basis.
Manage Superintendent and Project Manager purchases , processing payments as needed.
Perform weekly reporting and analysis of open accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring subledgers and ledgers remain in balance.
Work with the Controller and Project Administrator to research discrepancies and process corrections.
Provide financial reports and analysis to support the Controller in collection and lien discussions with Operations.
Communicate pending approvals in sub-ledgers and ensure timely posting of AP, Project Management, Time Allocations, and Payroll within Intacct.
Set up and maintain invoice approval workflows in Stampli (or other A/P systems) for miscellaneous job expenses.
Collaborate with the Project Administrator to ensure timely vendor billing submissions and compliance with contractual requirements.
Support audit activities and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
Cross-train in construction accounting and AIA coding requirements , as well as relevant software used by the Project Management team.
Serve as backup to the Project Administrator , assisting with financial reporting and operational processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience required.
2+ years of experience using Sage/Intacct (Required).
3+ years of experience in cash applications.
2+ years of experience in account reconciliations (vendor statements, balance sheet accounts).
Construction accounting experience is preferred but not required.
Advanced proficiency in Sage Intacct and Google Sheets.
Strong understanding of accounting operations, procedures, and financial controls.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills , with high attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 (commensurate with experience)
