• File business and related license applications and renewals.

• New jurisdictional research & set-up for excise taxes and licenses.

• Prepare and file monthly excise tax returns and other financial obligations.

• Support facilitation of excise tax audits.

• System maintenance of taxes in supply chain.

• Overseeing bookkeepers for reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.

• Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data, in line with laws, regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Ensure payroll is accurate and records are maintained.

• Support management in the accurate production of budgets.

• Reconcile accounts receivables and payables.

• Ensure cashflow is utilized property and protect reserves.

• Audit financial information for inconsistencies

• Provide tax planning strategies in accordance with existing legislation.

• Create financial forecasts and analyze risk.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's in accounting or related field
• 2-5 years experience in similar capacity
• Tobacco and vapor excise tax experience highly preferred
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and SAP B1
• Ability to work will in a team environment
• Proven ability to take ownership of or create processes
• Interest and acumen in how a business function
• Application of proven methods to common and uncommon accounting problems
• Ability to review one’s own work and find and correct any mistakes
• Understanding of the overall impact of their financial decisions
• Strong analytical skills
