    ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

    JOB SUMMARY

    Travis Hyde Properties is a family-owned business, founded 45 years ago, offering a broad range of leasing options in the Ithaca communities. We are seeking a driven and dedicated person to join our accounting department. As the Accounting Assistant, you are responsible for ownership of all accounting assistant activities across the company, ensuring compliance with GAAP, statutory guidelines, and internal financial policies and procedures. The Accounting Assistant is driven and detail oriented. This position will have a broad range of responsibilities supporting vendors and clients, undertaking accounting and administrative tasks with a primary focus on processing invoices and assisting in other accounting responsibilities. The ideal Accounting Assistant is energetic, trustworthy, has a positive attitude, thrives in a fast-paced setting with a variety of activities and responsibilities, and focuses on prioritizing tasks and working with little supervision. The Accounting Assistant reports to the President.

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    · Support company-vendor relationships by updating vendor profiles and payments, including payment details and W-9 information.

    · Manage all accounts payable.

    · Processing, reviewing, and filing invoices.

    · Perform month-end journal entries.

    · Processing monthly credit card transactions

    · Mailing, sorting, filing and phone support.

    · Manage accounts and perform property management software tasks (training provided for this task)

    · Assist colleagues as needed.

    · Interact with NYSEG via phone and online.

    · Additional tasks could include assistance with 1099 processing, assistance with security deposits, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations.

    · Other tasks as assigned.

    SCHEDULE

    · Full-time (40 hours per week)

    · 8-hour shifts

    · Available weeknights and weekends as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1+ year of accounting (preferred)

    Basic Accounting and bookkeeping skills

    Proficiency with Excel and the entire MS suite

    Proficiency with Yardi Breeze (preferred)

    Exceptional customer services skills

    Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    · Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    · Able to stand, walk and bend for extended periods.

    · Ability to lift 20lbs.
