GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Accounting Assistant is responsible for ensuring all policies and procedures for a multi-office real estate brokerage. This includes but is not limited to ensuring all state and local real estate licensing rules/regulations are adhered to. Room for growth. Pay depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to: -General Accounts Receivable Functions -General Payable Functions -Verify the accuracy of invoices and other account documents or records -Enter invoice detail into computer systems -Prepare and perform check runs -Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues -Process daily check deposits -Perform monthly, quarterly and year end responsibilities as needed -Perform a variety of office/clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing and filing -Address inquiries from agents and internal staff professionally and in a timely manner -Assist agents and office manager with balancing of commission -Process commission checks within 24 hours from date of receipt -Understands and accurately follow the check writing policy
QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job: -Real Estate experience preferred (not required) -Understanding of real estate processes, lingo, and escrow process (Preferred) -Knowledge of accounts payable including regulatory standards and compliance requirements -Knowledge of general accounting procedures -Excellent communication skills and computer knowledge with proficiency in database management and word processing -Ability to meet deadlines and troubleshoot various support issues that may arise -Ability to perform all duties with a sense of urgency while providing excellent customer service and professionalism to the end client -Strong interpersonal skills essential -Must be detail-oriented, organized and capable of managing tasks on multiple, concurrent projects -Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills -Must have well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish highly functional relationships with diverse personalities both within and outside the company -Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint -Demonstrates ability to work on a team and willingness to give assistant to co-worker in other area
SELECTION GUIDELINES The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience, and training: -Ability to communicate clearly, professional, and courteously in writing and verbally -Strong organization skills with an attention to detail -Works well on a team and collaborates with others but also be able to work independently. -Finger dexterity to operate standard office equipment including telephones, calculators, copiers, and facsimile equipment -Ability to effectively manage tasks with minimal supervision -Must be diligent and persistent in follow-up and completion -Capable of multi-tasking and meeting tight deadlines. -Able to function in a fast-paced environment with tight and changing deadlines -Strong working knowledge of Windows operating system-experience. -Knowledge of Lone Wolf, Quickbooks, Excel is a plus.

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience
