  • Responsibilities

    Duties:

    * Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    * Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
    * Process and track payments from customers and pay vendors.
    * Follow up on overdue invoices and resolve any billing discrepancies.
    * Monitor actual spending against the budget and highlight discrepancies.
    * Track inventory related to car wash supplies and ensure stock levels are properly managed.
    * Assist in reconciling physical inventory with financial records.
    * Prepare and file sales tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    * Work closely with external tax professionals during tax season.
    * Post journal entries and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
    * Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
    * Monitor and report on cash flow to management.
    * Provide support in analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and suggesting improvements.
    * Help management with cost control and profitability analysis.
    * Ensure the company is complying with financial regulations and internal policies.
    * Assist with internal audits and implement best practices for financial management.
    

    Required Skills:

    1. Accounting Knowledge: * Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations. * Familiarity with accrual accounting and basic bookkeeping practices.
    2. Technical Skills: * Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or any other ERP system). * Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
    3. Attention to Detail: * Accuracy in financial reporting and data entry is crucial. * Strong analytical skills to spot discrepancies and trends.
    4. Time Management: * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    5. Communication Skills: * Ability to communicate financial data and reports clearly to non-financial staff and management. * Interaction with vendors, employees, and other stakeholders may require good interpersonal skills.
    6. Problem-Solving Abilities: * Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records and transactions.
    7. Knowledge of Industry: * Ability to analyze business performance specific to the car wash industry (e.g., subscription models, service packages).
    8. Confidentiality: * Handling sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity.
    9. Adaptability: * Ability to adjust to changing business needs or financial systems as the company grows.
