    Title: Part-Time Accounting Clerk

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 12-18 hrs/week

    Hours: On-site, Monday – Friday with very occasional weekends required

    Position Overview:

    The Accounting Clerk at JW House is responsible for providing vital support in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, while supporting the Executive Director in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Recordkeeping & Reporting:

    Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in QuickBooks Online, adhering to proper coding and documentation standards.

    Assist the Executive Director with the preparation of weekly/monthly reports, ensuring they reflect accurate data.

    Support the tracking of income/donations and expenses, highlighting any discrepancies or areas that need attention.

    Work closely with the Director of Development to track grant funding, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and compliance with grant restrictions.

    Reconcile financial records, collect and organize receipts, and maintain proper documentation in accordance with audit and financial best practices.

    Accounts Payable & Donations:

    Process incoming vendor invoices, verifying the accuracy of amounts and ensuring that invoices are authorized before processing payments.

    Prepare and issue payments for vendors, ensuring timely disbursements to avoid delays.

    Collaborate with the Office Administrator to ensure consistency between financial and donor records.

    Administrative Support & Financial Compliance:

    Provide general administrative support to the Organization, such as filing, organizing, and managing financial documents and records.

    Help maintain an efficient and secure financial filing system, both electronically and physically, to ensure that records are easily accessible.

    Assist with other finance-related tasks as needed, such as performing clerical duties related to financial operations.

    Accurately code expenditures and monitor expenses to align with budget allocations, flagging any inconsistencies or concerns.

    Identify opportunities to streamline financial procedures, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance documentation practices.

    Qualifications:

    Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeper or in a similar role.

    Experience with non-profit accounting.

    Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

    Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

    Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

    Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

    Salary Range: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. This is a non-benefited position
