    Job Summary: Employee will be responsible for supporting the efforts related to the many accounting functions and deadlines necessary to complete the department’s responsibilities. The Accounting Clerk performs any combination of calculating, posting and verification duties to obtain financial information for the use in maintaining accounting records and analysis.

    Qualifications: An Associate’s in Accounting, Finance and/or another related field and/or a minimum of (2) two years’ work experience in a general accounting role is  preferred. A solid understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and determine applicable sources of information.

    Essential Elements of the Job:

    Responsibilities: The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in the accounting department including:

    • Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.

    • Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs (Microsoft Dynamics – Business Central)

    • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., accounts payable, disbursements, expense vouchers). Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.

    • Investigates questionable data.

    • Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.

    • Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies and or improve processes.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Skills and Work Relations:

    Employee must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must possess excellent interpersonal, attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills and strong critical thinking capabilities. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other related software.

    Ability to analyze and interpret data, coordinate schedules, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and work independently.

    Employee reports directly to the Accounting Manager

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

    Employee performs duties in a standard office environment throughout the day, involving sitting, standing, climbing stairs, keyboarding, close vision, speaking, hearing and communicating. May be required to lift up to 40 pounds. Employee may work with a desktop computer, printer, copier, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment as needed. Incumbent may occasionally travel to other office sites in this position.
