Agility Recruiting is seeking a contract to hire Accounting Lead! In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, providing essential guidance and expertise to ensure timely and accurate completion of all accounting tasks. You will manage key accounting functions, including preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and reconciling bank accounts. This position demands precision and efficiency, as you will handle a variety of accounting activities such as journal entries, financial statement analysis, cash flow assessments, and tax compliance support.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of Reconciliations: Take full responsibility for periodic accounting reconciliations.
- Enhance Reporting Processes: Continuously improve the accuracy and efficiency of monthly financial reporting and internal controls.
- Financial Oversight: Supervise all financial transactions, including credit card and bank reconciliations, while leading a small accounting team (AR/AP).
- Payment Management: Oversee the approval process for incoming and outgoing bank payments.
- Timely Closures: Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
- Transaction Management: Review and capture weekly COS/WIP transactions in the ERP system.
- Compliance Assistance: Ensure timely completion of state and federal compliance activities, including 1099s, sales tax, property tax, and corporate tax preparation.
- Collaboration: Partner with the VP of Finance to enhance transparency and efficiency within the financial department.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare and review detailed financial analyses for the Executive team.
- Policy Adherence: Follow all policies and procedures regarding the protection of information assets.
- Additional Duties: Perform other relevant work-related tasks as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Educational Background: BA/BS/AA degree in accounting or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in finance and accounting, with supervisory or leadership experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
