Accounting Manager needed for fast growing company. This is a head office role managing a team overseeing a portion of the corporate accounting function. In this role you will lead, develop and train Staff Accountants and/or Senior Accountants. You will be responsible for compliance work and overseeing the consolidation of trial balances for financial reporting. You will own the process assisting external auditors with compliance audits (Financial Statements, 401k, collateral, etc.) and with providing financial reports to tax.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, train and assist in the development of Senior Accountants and Accountants.
- Serve as liaison with the Reporting Department to prepare and maintain the consolidation of trial balances for financial reporting.
- Own the process of completing required compliance audits (Financial statement, 401(k), collateral, etc.).
- Review compiled information required to complete tax filings (quarterly and annual)
- Research, interpret, and implement the adoption of new accounting pronouncements as necessary
- Lead in development and improvement in internal policies & procedures to ensure compliance and the highest integrity of the Company’s results
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy.
- Occasional travel required
Experience and Qualities Required:
- 6-8+ years of accounting experience with supervisory experience. Experience in public accounting is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary
- Must be detail oriented, and technically minded
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize
- Strong research and reconciliation skills required
- Proficient use of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel required
- Experience with learning new financial accounting systems
- Knowledge and exposure to multi-company organizations a plus
- Team player
- Self-motivated as well as strong leadership trains and skills.
- Professional written and verbal communication as well as great interpersonal skills
- Customer focused (i.e., generating accurate and timely results and effectively and timely communicating to customers, colleagues, and management)

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
