    SUMMARY

    We are seeking an Accounting Manager, with previous experience in public accounting and holds a CPA. Reporting to the Controller, this position will oversee 4-7 direct reports and run a 4-day close.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Apply in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and adhere to all company policies and procedures,
    • Perform the month-end and year-end financial period close process including preparation of journal entries to ensure reliability and accuracy,
    • Prepare financial statements, reporting packages, and regulatory reporting documents timely and accurately,
    • Delegate, supervise, and participate in accounting tasks, leading by example,
    • Monitor team performance and provide feedback, training, and coaching,
    • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies in financial data and propose effective solutions to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations,
    • Apply meticulous attention to detail through observation, analysis, and logic to analyze financial results, reconcile accounts and resolve complex finance issues that have implications beyond one’s own area,
    • Ability to understand relevant business issues and the organization's operating procedures and connect these to finance work priorities,
    • Demonstrate proven financial acumen to seek opportunities for standardization and automation,
    • Assist Controller in the application of GAAP, internal accounting controls, procedures, and best practices in support of a structured financial control environment,
    • Facilitate internal and external audit needs.
    • Proficient in accounting software and systems to streamline the accounting process and increase productivity.
    • Strong ethical standards and professionalism, understanding the implications of their work in terms of legal and ethical standards,
    • Ability to familiarize with company documents including policies and procedures and the company Towing Management Systems (T.S.M.S)
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters and areas of the organization,
    • Must be a team leader and support the mission, vision, and goals of the company and the finance department.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) highly preferred
    • An advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
    • Ten years or more of experience in a finance/accounting role
    • 5+ years’ experience managing an accounting staff.
    • Hands-on experience with accounting ERP implementation and ERP software packages; preferred experience with Epicor.
    • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
    • Working experience in a public accounting firm is preferred
