    POSITION SUMMARY

    Our client, whom we will refer to as Confidential Company, is searching for a dynamic and experienced professional to their company in the role of Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the Company’s accounting functions, including accounts payable, general ledger, and retail accounting. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including month-end closings and balance sheet reconciliations. The Accounting Manager is responsible for evaluating and improving accounting processes, analyzing financial data, and managing a team to achieve department goals. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective time management, a proactive future-focused approach to problem solving, and excellent communication. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative work environment while promoting continuous improvement in processes and performance.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, general ledger, and retail accounting.

    Ensure monthly closings are done timely and accurately.

    Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are done timely and accurately.

    Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.

    Prepare, review, and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

    Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships

    Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Point of Sale Transaction experience a plus.

    Education and Experience Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge is required.

    5 years of experience in accounting required is required.

    3+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Finance Manager is required.

    3+ years’ work experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity is required.

    Experience with PDI, retail store accounting in the fuel/energy sector, SOX compliance, and Oracle reporting and implementation experience is preferred.

    Certifications Required:

    CPA strongly preferred.
