    Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a longstanding and privately held transportation company in Rochester, NY to recruit a Senior Accountant.

    Position Summary:

    The CFO is seeking a dynamic and self-starting accountant to be responsible with assisting in finance department oversight, financial reporting, sales tax returns, 401(k) review, improving processes and procedures, assisting the CFO with operating and capital budget, and forecasting.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee accounting, A/P, and A/R functions and ensuring timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Preparing and managing financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing cycles.
    • Supporting, developing, and guiding finance team, including training and development opportunities.
    • Assisting in the strategic vision of the organization and culture.
    • Understanding trends of Workers Compensation claims and assisting HR with requests for information from third party administrator.
    • Evaluating processes, procedures, and software, and offering recommendations for improvements for leveraging data and tools to support strategic initiatives.
    • Preparing cash flow projections for senior management weekly.
    • Coordinating 401(k) audit and annual review with external auditors.
    • Assisting the CFO with capital and operating budget processes.
    • Filing sales tax returns.
    • Conducting and completing performance reviews.

    Requirements:

    • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 5 or more years of relevant experience; CMA or CPA preferred.
    • Collaborative, business savvy, and ability to work in a team environment and independently.
    • Ability to identify process improvements and encourage recommendations for change to leadership.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and operating and maintain multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compensation
    $75,000-$90,000 per year
