Additional qualifications include:
5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Professional degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Accounting experience in the wine industry is preferred.
Skilled in overseeing all aspects of accounting operations (financial statements, general ledger function, month-end/year-end close process).
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
Position Overview: The Accounting Manager will oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition while ensuring accurate monthly financial statements and managing the month-end and year-end close processes. This role will supervise office staff, maintain accounts payable processes, prepare financial reports for management, and stay updated on relevant financial policies and regulations, particularly those specific to the wine industry and Washington State Department of Revenue rules.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage accounting operations, including GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
Prepare monthly financial statements and conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
Develop periodic reports for management.
Work with (AP, AR, Payroll, HR, Compliance, Inventory Control) and accounting staff (AP, Billings, Payroll, HR, Compliance).
Oversee accounts payable functions, tax form preparation, and check issuance.
Prepare Borrowing Base reports for the bank and maintain the General Ledger.
Manage bank accounts, reconciliations, and cash flow.
Maintain company line of credit and process monthly state and local business tax reports and payments.
Proven to be results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
Proven ability to balance multiple priorities to close business.
Effectively communicate/present to owners and manager-level staff.
