    Position Summary: Responsible for the overall management of the Accounting Department, including planning, organizing and directing accounting staff to meet the company objectives of Performance Designs, Inc., and Deland Research Corporation by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company programs conforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Administers and maintains all payroll records. Oversee all aspects of payroll, which includes monitoring the processing and transmitting of payroll via modem.

    Completes all reports regarding payroll information for unemployment, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, Quarterly, Year-end, UCT6, FUTA and 941.

    Transfers the weekly payroll summary from APS into the general ledger.

    Prepares, reconciles, and processes payment of payroll tax returns and other information both quarterly and annually. Processes and completes necessary reporting for yearend W2’s and W3.

    Obtains budget information from Department Managers and executes the information to compile the company budget.

    Reconciles all company bank reconciliations.

    Compiles company financial statements; reconciles balance sheet accounts and maintains fixed assets.

    Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash deposits, bank reconciliations and the preparation of monthly and yearend financial statements for Performance Designs, Deland Research Corporation and other related entities.

    Performs delinquent debt follow-up and makes arrangements with Dealers for payment of delinquent accounts.

    Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures, and special financial studies.

    Directs and supervises the Accounting Clerks. Reviews and evaluates work performance and conducts counseling measures as appropriate.

    Reconciles all credit card accounts

    Request all foreign drafts and wires.

    Assists in annual 401(k) and Worker’s compensation audits and all other required audits.

    Prepare all month end journal entries including payroll accruals.

    Audits product price lists including all standard costs in M2M and maintains the Chart of Accounts and purchasing categories.

    Verifies credit references and approves dealer terms.

    Provides for and maintains insurance on company vehicles and property.

    Performs other inherent duties related, but not limited, to the above.

    Education/Experience Requirements

    · BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent amount of education and work experience · 5 years experience in all aspects of accounting · 2 – 3 years proven supervisory experience with strong leadership skills

    · Must be knowledgeable and proficient in MS Word, Excel and Internet usage · Must possess clear written and verbal communication skills · Must possess good time management skills · Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities · Excellent attention to detail · Must be able to handle stressful situations · Able to maintain confidential information

    Physical Requirements

    Finger, hand and arm dexterity necessary for data entry

    Close visual acuity is necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures and when viewing computer terminal.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for communicating with internal and external public

    Listening skills are crucial for communicating

    Ability to sit for extended periods of time
