Accounting Manager, Revenue & Financial Reporting
Overview: A Quantum Search Partners client (the world's largest audiobook publisher owned by prominent private equity firms and experiencing significant growth through organic expansion and acquisitions) is seeking a motivated Accounting Manager, Revenue & Financial Reporting to join their team. The ideal candidate will support strategic growth goals by managing detailed financial reporting, overseeing month-end processes, and collaborating closely with the Controller and CFO to deliver accurate financial insights for strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Oversee month-end close activities, including consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
Manage revenue recognition processes (ASC 606), accounts receivable/payable, and royalties accounting.
Supervise a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, providing mentoring, training, and performance management.
Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget, prior-year comparisons) to inform business strategies.
Support external audits, including preparing documentation and reviewing audit schedules.
Evaluate existing accounting procedures, recommending and implementing improvements.
Provide ad hoc analyses and support special financial projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
Strong accounting experience; public accounting or Media & Technology industry experience is advantageous.
At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, particularly revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Oracle NetSuite preferred.
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly presenting complex financial information.
