We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong accounting background, knowledge of the manufacturing industry, and expertise in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and QuickBooks.

    Position Overview: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments, and supporting our accounting team to drive efficiency and accuracy in our financial operations. Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must for this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions in QuickBooks.

    Review, verify, and process invoices and payments in a timely manner using QuickBooks.

    Reconcile AR and AP balances in QuickBooks to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

    Monitor customer accounts for payment status, follow up on overdue invoices, and resolve any billing issues.

    Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in QuickBooks, including balance sheet and income statement preparation.

    Support inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS) accounting for marine products, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation in QuickBooks.

    Perform month-end and year-end close processes in QuickBooks, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded and accurate.

    Assist in preparing and analyzing budgets and forecasts, providing insights on financial performance and variances.

    Conduct general ledger reconciliations and maintain proper accounting records in accordance with GAAP within QuickBooks.

    Oversee and assist with cash management, including bank reconciliations, daily cash flow monitoring, and cash disbursements, utilizing QuickBooks.

    Prepare and file sales tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations using QuickBooks.

    Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and assisting in audit preparations.

    Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and improve efficiency.

    Review vendor and customer contracts to ensure accurate billing and payments in QuickBooks.

    Process credit card transactions and ensure proper accounting of company credit card expenditures in QuickBooks.

    Ensure timely and accurate employee payroll processing and related journal entries in QuickBooks.

    Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for management as needed.

    Qualifications:

    A minimum of 6 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

    Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

    Proficiency with QuickBooks for daily accounting tasks, reporting, and reconciliation.

    Experience with financial reporting and general ledger management in QuickBooks.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

    Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

    Preferred Experience:

    Experience in the marine or boat retail industry is a plus.

    Knowledge of inventory management and COGS accounting.

    Experience with tax filings (sales tax, payroll tax, etc.) and audits.
