    ** _POSITION SUMMARY
    _** The Accounting Specialist supports the Americas Retardants Business Unit, primarily managing Accounts Payable activities with opportunities to expand into Accounts Receivable, General Ledger accounting, and reconciliations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position collaborates with manufacturing, field services, sales, and marketing teams across multiple sites to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This role is based in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

    ** _ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    _** The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Monitor systems for inbound vendor invoices and ensure timely processing.
    • Evaluate vendor invoices for next steps, including purchase order (PO) matching, approvals, and ERP input.
    • Verify invoice pricing and terms, escalating discrepancies related to purchase orders.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate coding and processing per approval authority guidelines.
    • Apply judgment and experience to recommend General Ledger (G/L) coding for expenditures, ensuring proper classification between capital and expense by type and business unit.
    • Analyze freight bills to ensure proper classification of inbound, outbound, and capitalization.
    • Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations.
    • Support Accounts Receivable functions, including customer follow-ups, reporting, and master data maintenance.
    • Assist with Concur travel expense report reviews and approvals.
    • Maintain comprehensive digital records of processed invoices for audit and archival purposes.
    • Identify and recommend process improvements and best practices to enhance productivity.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
    • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Strong understanding of accounts payable principles.
    • Experience in manufacturing and logistics industries.
    • Familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Proficiency in accounting ERP software (NetSuite preferred).
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed
