About Vessell Bridges Murphy (VBM) Law: Founded by Jared Vessell, Ross Bridges, and Matthew Murphy, VBM has been dedicated to representing employers and insurance companies throughout all of Missouri and Illinois from our three office locations in Columbia, Springfield and St. Louis, Missouri. Jennifer Weller: Managing Partner, St. Louis, MO

Education: Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University School of Law with specialization in Missouri/Illinois workers’ compensation.

Charitable Work: President, Kids’ Chance, Inc. of Missouri.

Fundraising: Co-chaired events like golf tournaments and trivia nights.

Interests: Traveling, family time.

Brooke Smith: Managing Partner, Springfield, MO

Passion: Dedicated to fostering a thriving workplace and excellence in the field.

Approach: Driven by innovation, talent development, and community responsibility.

Background: Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas, specializing in Missouri Workers' Compensation.

Community Involvement: Board member, Foundation for Springfield Public Schools; Red Carpet Committee Member, Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

Interests: Photography, outdoor activities, family time.

Ross Bridges: Managing Partner, Columbia, MO

Background: Degrees in Criminal Justice and Spanish; United States Marine Corps veteran with deployment experience in Iraq.

Community Involvement: Active member of the Crossing Church in Columbia; Board member and volunteer with Welcome Home, Inc. since 2011.

Legal Focus: Licensed in Missouri and Kansas; specializes in workers’ compensation, insurance subrogation law, and civil liability defense of public entities.

Mentorship: Provides guidance and support to VBM team members for career advancement.

Interests: Outdoor activities, Mizzou sports, family.

Accounting Specialist Essential Functions:

Ability to effectively communicate and interact with attorneys, administrative and support staff and clients

Accounts payable

Manage Quickbooks Online

Recording accurate and complete financial data

Conducting daily banking activities

Producing financial reports

Monthly reconciliations

Assisting Billing Coordinator with AR (including sending out invoices)

Processing payroll

Competitive Salary and Benefits Include:

Competitive salary commensurate with experience with a starting range of: $40,000 - $45,000.

Recruitment bonus for recruiting new staff to VBM.

Qualified candidates are driven, collaborative, organized, and service-oriented, who have:

2+ years of Quickbooks Online experience

Excellent written and oral communication and time management skills, (required)

Ability to work 1-2 days in our Columbia, Missouri office - This is a HYBRID work opportunity
