Staff Accountant
Accounting Manager
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting accurate and timely accounting processes. This role will focus on daily accounts payable transactions, reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end close activities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Sales and Service Directors to help manage cash flow, track expenditures, and provide financial analysis as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
Process and record daily accounts payable transactions and monitor bank debits.
Reconcile cash deposits, sales tax activity, and credit card transactions.
Prepare and post journal entries as part of balance sheet account reconciliations and the month-end close process.
Assist with the timely completion of month-end close procedures.
Support collections processes by communicating with customers and following up on outstanding receivables.
Assist in preparing budgets by gathering data, analyzing financial information, and providing reports.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Prepare special reports as requested.
Collaborate with team members and leadership to analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
Skills/Qualifications: A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a hands-on role with a strong sense of urgency. Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines while working both independently and collaboratively.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
Experience working with multiple legal entities is a plus.
Familiarity with financial reporting requirements.
Special Knowledge/Skills and/or Abilities:
Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite experience a plus).
Strong knowledge of auditing, accounting principles, and corporate finance.
Ability to track budget expenses and assist in developing budgets.
Experience with inventory and purchasing controls.
Understanding of job costing is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
