Job Title: Accounting Technician II
Job Locations: Norfolk, VA 23513
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Payrate: $19.82/hr
Job Duties:
- Prepares accounts payable and purchasing documents, reviews for accuracy and approval, and posts in accounting system
- Prepares and posts journal entries involving expenditure and revenue items to the general ledger
- Analyzes financial data and prepares reports
- Sorts and distributes unit mail
- Maintains financial files
- Other duties as assigned
Performance Responsibilities:
Although each position has its own unique duties and responsibilities, the following areas apply to every employee of the City of Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) department. All NCSB employees:
- will adhere to the Norfolk CSB Corporate Compliance Plan and the City of Norfolk Code of Conduct and will report all real and suspected incidents of fraud, waste and/or abuse to their supervisor, the Corporate Compliance Officer, the Assistant or Executive Director, the City Auditor and/or the Alert Line.
- will abide by all HIPAA and privacy policies, guarding the private health information of all individuals under our care.

- Staff hired into administrative positions (not direct service) can work in units other than their primary role to provide administrative activities within their skill set, education, and training. They may not work in units as a provider of direct services. They may serve in "voluntary" activities outside of the clinical service arena of the CSB's core services working with the public for community outreach events, service fairs, homeless outreach activities, homeless day shelters, neighborhood outreach events, trainings, etc. as long as their role is in an assistance, trainer, or support function, not a clinical role.

Education/ Experience:
- Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through a combination of training and experience which would provide the above knowledge, abilities, and skills. High School degree or GED and one to two years related work experience in an accounting, finance or business environment required.
Certificate/ License:
- Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record as reported by the Department of Motor Vehicles are required for persons using a personal or City vehicle in the performance of their duties.
