Job Title: Accountant (Multi-Jurisdictional Tax Expertise)
Company Overview: ZKTeco Workforce Management is a dynamic and growing company seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Accountant with strong expertise in multi-jurisdictional sales tax compliance, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP) management. This is a critical role that combines operational accounting with strategic financial oversight, offering the opportunity to contribute to the company’s continued growth and success. This position is onsite in Tampa, FL and requires an independent, proactive professional with full-cycle accounting knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations:
Manage all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank and credit card reconciliations.
Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reported in compliance with accounting standards.
Sales Tax Compliance:
Oversee and manage multi-jurisdictional sales tax compliance, including accurate calculation, filing, and payment of sales taxes across various states and regions.
Stay updated on changing sales tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant in all jurisdictions.
Payroll and Regulatory Compliance:
Process payroll accurately and on time.
Work with external CPA to create accurate tax estimates and ensure timely payment of estimated taxes and other regulatory filings.
Customer Subscription Renewals:
Collaborate with the renewals specialist to ensure customer renewals are invoiced accurately and align with contract terms.
Monitor revenue recognition and confirm that services are provided only with valid renewals.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Provide financial insights and analysis to support the CEO's strategic decision-making.
Audit & Compliance:
Partner with external CPA for tax filings, audits, and year-end financial reviews.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Process Optimization:
Independently assess and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices for handling financial data and responding to customer requests.
Team Supervision:
Supervise and mentor two team members, ensuring adherence to company policies and fostering their professional growth.
Software Utilization:
Manage financial data using ZOHO Books for tracking, reporting, and overall accounting management.
Requirements
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience in small- mid-sized businesses.
Proven expertise in managing multi-jurisdictional sales tax compliance.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in ZOHO Books and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Familiarity with financial reporting tools and practices.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks independently and meet deadlines.
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
Effective communicator capable of working closely with the CEO, external CPA, and other stakeholders.
Experience managing and mentoring a small team.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $68,000 - $82,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications).

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
