    SALARY: minimum $46,995.52 to commensurate with experience, education, and certification(s)

    ORGANIZATION

    The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) is a regional planning agency. As the Metropolitan Planning Organization and Areawide Water Quality Management Agency, NOACA conducts transportation and environmental planning for a five-county region that is home to 2.1 million people and includes the counties of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Accounting and Office Assistant I is an entry-level, full-time position that is assigned to NOACA's Finance Division. The position supports and assists the agency's Accounting Manager and Finance Director with maintenance, compilation, verification and reconciliation of accounting records in areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant tracking and drawdowns, budget management, payroll, and asset management.

    Specific job duties include but are not limited to: performance of accounting activities; assisting with payroll, budgeting and annual audit functions; supporting the Division's ongoing financial reporting obligations; working with and helping to maintain the accuracy of the agency's financial data; supporting the Division's grant expenditure responsibilities; and providing agency staff with financial information and support on completion of financial procedures.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
    • Minimum of one year of accounting experience, or government finance, government budgeting or government grant experience
    • Basic knowledge of government accounting
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
    • Aptitude for financial applications
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
