Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Review, validate, and process invoices and expense reports in accordance with company policies
- Ensure timely payments to vendors while adhering to agreed payment terms
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding accounts payable and invoice status
- Support the finance team in various projects and tasks as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data and adherence to budgetary guidelines
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and escalate any issues as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
