The Operations and Accounting teams at Word on Fire steward the apostolate’s resources through operational best practices. This position plays a key role in ensuring financial stewardship and operational excellence.
The Accounts Payable and Receivable (AP/AR) Clerk is responsible for processing transactions related to both accounts payable and accounts receivable. This role ensures the accuracy and efficiency of financial records, timely payments to vendors, and collection of outstanding invoices. The AP/AR Clerk will work closely with the operations team to maintain accurate accounting records and support financial reporting.

Accounts Payable (AP):
Set up vendors in the bill pay system and collect W9s
Review, verify, enter invoices in the bill pay system
Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts
Assist in preparing and issuing 1099 forms
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Generate and issue invoices
Record incoming payments and reconcile accounts
Follow up on overdue accounts and send reminders
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes
Provide support during audits and financial reviews
File and organize relevant paperwork, including invoices, check receipts, audit documents, and other essential records
Support the operations team with administrative tasks, including sorting mail, as needed
